A statistical anecdote about how unique you truly are

When you shuffle a deck of cards, the resulting order has NEVER happened before.

Like, ever.

Not by anyone who has ever shuffled cards since the invention of cards themselves (!!!) — nor will it ever happen again.

There are more than 8x10^67 possible outcomes of a shuffled deck. To be clear, that’s an 8 with 67 zeroes after it.

You can’t conceive of this number.

Most people know what a million is. That’s the price of a tear-down house in a so-so neighborhood in Los Angeles.

You might even know what a billion is — it’s a number that makes a man think he should fly to Mars.

But 67 zeroes?

That’s more than all the atoms in our entire solar system, including Pluto — because of course including Pluto — because Pluto is a planet, no matter what “scientists” say.

If that’s true of just 52 cards, how much more original and unique are you, with all your individual characteristics, experiences, and perspectives?

If that is true, then why not you? For the dream you have. For the opportunity you crave. For the story you have to offer. For the uniquely positioned space you inhabit in this time and in this universe (including Pluto)…

You are infinitely more unique than a 52 cards… and you were made for this moment.
