This is so lovely especially that our can happen in a big big place like USA! It happens often to me in NZ but I thought it’s Cz we are a tiny little nation and everyone has about 6 degrees of separation.
Coming to the point that’s why I always feed everyone Good food. Yes I enjoy it but also maybe they know a publisher one day 😆
Reminds me of a similar take from Tim Minchin: "I don't care if you're the most powerful cat in the room, I will judge you on how you treat the least powerful."
Great piece. Alec. Worked at a start-up with hundreds of interns. My mom told me similar advice the day I became full-time. “Treat those interns well, they could be your boss someday!” 💥

The world is small, no matter where you are. And “Feeding everyone good food” is wonderful advice, born figurative and literal.....

Also, "I'll judge you by how you treat the waitress and the mailman." --Gandhi

Emma - thanks so much!
Such a small world. Great story!
I sometimes think about it in terms of nice vs kind. Anyone can be nice in the moment, but kindness comes from the heart.
