Nice to see you again even if itsbon a video and not in person! I have so many awesome memories from church and you were one of my favorites Alec! Thank you for your story, I don't remember hearing about this but it made me think of the fun we had wherever we went. I had no idea you were secretly a "playa" and breaking girls hearts! I remember you were so funny and I always admired your outgoing and confident personslity. You had the ability to capture everybody in a room and it was so fun to be around you. Thank you for being a part of my church roots, they are full of people and memories I'll never forget.
Hi Arianne! So great to hear from you! I had learned my lesson before we met, so I guess you and your Kings crew dodged a bullet... ha. Thanks so much for saying hi. Hope you're doing well.
LOVE! Amazing and wish we could have seen the Moth in person. Also, Katie and I passed each other a thousand origami notes through high school-- I can still feel the paper in my hands! Natalie was perfection and Norm and I watched the intro 10 times. Welcome, Alan!
This made me want to get back into The Moth! You need to run a daily standup from the setup. It looked so good!
I never thought about the masterful origami being a stall tactic, but as I think about it, you're spot on. And I loved the takeaway, sometimes confessing feels like a punch in the crotch, but yes, it's the right thing to do.
The defensive edge of a girl with two older brothers who were destined for juvie.
Sometimes, confessing feels like a punch in the crotch.
Thanks Pete -- she HAD to punch me. It was her training!!
That was such a great finishing line!
Well done Alec!
My kids remembered:
“He got punched in the crotch.”
“He had two girlfriends.”
I remembered ping pong ball and oragami notes. I liked the analogies.
Wasn’t sure why the conclusion was “confession is always the right thing” based on this speech, though.

Thank you, thank you. That emcee certainly has more natural skill than me.....

Thank you! You have to be an Oceans-11-level hacker to get those notes open!
And yes...
"The hottest club in Los Angeles is 'Alec's Basement' -- it's got everything. Three flashlights, a fake mic, an audience full of three minors...."
…and then a lot of Sprite and pizza and ping pong until you crashed and went to bed. What could go wrong?
You know it because YOU ALSO LIVED IT
Totally - and now am living it with the kids!
