Thanks for writing this. I had a few notes drafted to people and decided not to send because— “they don’t need to hear from me right now!!” Narrative played in my head.
Reconsidering the messages and the send. Hope you continue to stay safe and praying for resolve in all its forms. 🙏
Well said. It’s tricky on reaching out. I live in West LA and my shop is in Brentwood Village (closed since late Fri; no power) so I have a lot of customers and acquaintances in Pali and Mandeville. I’ve reached out to a few longtime customers & they’ve been appreciative. I’ve reached out to friends as well more so in Pali and very few still have homes standing (a few who live south of Sunset near Riviera are OK this moment knock on wood). The Nat Giard was positioned in our parking lot when I left after checking up On my shop Mon. It was comforting but also…surreal:-( Let’s hope these winds don’t knock us backwards again.
I heard yesterday about a private K-8 school in the Palisades -- 142 of their 300 families lost their homes.
The number of GoFundMe links is overwhelming. Staggering. Each one a story of lost dreams, dashed hopes and desperate need. How to pick? Is there enough money to go around?

Thanks so much — I’m learning that there are both big and little ways to help — and they both matter a lot.
I appreciate the post. I've never lived in LA, but I love the city and it's heartbreaking to see the devastation unfolding there.

Thanks. The scale is staggering. That’s the thing.
Hope your shop is ok - I’ve been there (used to live over there)
