(For three months of my life I was a pastor, spiritual director AND chaplain, and while there's overlap, they're also very different disciplines and I got confused and had to ditch chaplaincy for a while...but...I just spent most of today studying for a chaplain recertification exam. 🤷♀️)
The pull in disparate directions of identity is real, especially for creative types, and even more so for the sacred clowns. This is a great reminder to resist the fabricated expectations of the masses and stand firm in the gift of singularity.

Spiritual directors are also *deeply* helpful for times like this. Speaking from experience and speaking as one.

A basic brief description of what a spiritual director does is: facilitate real-time interaction between another human and God.
